Walkers and Blockers-Pheasant hunts at Pheasant Creek Farms can be customized for shotgunners of all backgrounds and levels of experience. Many clients like the traditional “walkers and blockers” method.  Here several walking hunters cover on foot a big cornfield, a large stand of prairie grass, a huge dry cattail slough, or a long shelter belt with the purpose of flushing pheasants with the help of dogs.

Walkers will shoot roosters that flush in front of them.  Blockers waiting on the edges of the cover will shotgun birds that fly over them.

Gentleman’s Hunt-Another type of hunt at Pheasant Creek Farms is for a small group of shotgunners to travel to smaller plots of crops, grass, cattails, or trees. There hunters and dogs can make short walks to surprise pheasants into flight, bring them to the ground, and watch as the dogs fetch them up. This can be a good experience for anyone who prefers an easier access to pheasants.

Self Guided Hunt-A third method of hunting ringnecks at Royal Flush is for a pair of hunters and their dogs to follow the narrow creek bottoms, weedy fence lines, tree belts, and other types of similar habitat where shotgunners and dogs can find roosters. The country here is more rugged, so hunters and their dogs need to be in good shape.
